Meet The Team

Julia Šmigelskis
PT BSc, MSc Exerc. and Sport PT
Practice Owner, Senior Physiotherapist
Julia graduated in Austria in 2012 and started the practice in 2016, just as Bloc 11 was about to open. She has always enjoyed working with orthopaedic and sport patients and has spent the last six years specialising in climbing- and adventure sport injuries.
Julia lives for solving the puzzle that leads to an injury and to find the tailored solution that guides her patients on their path to recovery. Her goal is that every patient leaves a session having gained an understanding of their pain or injury and a grasp of how they can help themselves getting better.
In her free time Julia spends time with her two small kids and husband, climbs and participates in Dressage and Show Jumping.
Julia works in Paarden Eiland and in Diep River.

Curtis Pow Chong
PT BSc
Senior Physiotherapist
Curtis graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2014. He started climbing towards the end of 2018 with a background of surfing. Bouldering is his main focus, spending most of his time, climbing outdoors.
Curtis believes that physiotherapy and climbing go hand in hand as both involve intentional movement, and so too should life be intentional. Physiotherapy not only assists in preventing injuries from occurring, but also plays a role in enhancing and restoring the joy of climbing post injury. Through physiotherapy helping you return back to climbing is done better together.
Curtis works in Paarden Eiland.
