Meet The Team
Julia Šmigelskis
PT BSc, MSc Exerc. and Sport PT
Practice Owner, Senior Physiotherapist
Julia graduated in Austria in 2012 and started the practice in 2016, just as Bloc 11 was about to open. She has always enjoyed working with orthopaedic and sport patients and has spent the last seven years specialising in climbing- and adventure sport injuries.
Julia lives for solving the puzzle that leads to an injury and to find the tailored solution that guides her patients on their path to recovery. Her goal is that every patient leaves a session having gained an understanding of their pain or injury and a grasp of how they can help themselves getting better.
In her free time Julia spends time with her two small kids and husband, climbs and participates in Dressage and Show Jumping.
Julia mainly works in Diep River and goes through to Paarden Eiland on Wednesdays.
Kahla Hackner
PT BSc
Junior Physiotherapist
Kahla is a graduate of UCT with a BSc in Physiotherapy.
She is an avid rock climber who chose her career based on her passion for this sport.
Kahla treated climbers from around the globe in Rocklands last season, before traveling to South-East Asia.
Preventing injuries is as much Kahla's goal as getting her patients back to the activities they love as quickly and safely as possible if something has gone wrong.
Kahla is mainly working in Paarden Eiland but covers Diep River when Julia is unavailable.
